Support Groups

Better Breathers Club

Better Breathers Clubs offer the chance to learn ways to cope with lung diseases. You can also get support from others who share in your struggles. These support groups give you the tools you need to live the best quality of life you can.

Better Breathers Clubs meet regularly and feature educational presentations on a wide range of relevant topics, including:

  • How lung cancer affects the lungs
  • Breathing techniques
  • Exercise
  • Talking with your physician
  • Medications and other treatment options
  • Medical tests
  • Supplemental oxygen
  • Home health care
  • Finding resources in your community
  • Protecting your lungs

If you feel alone and isolated, these support groups can help. It feels good to talk with others who understand. Being able to speak freely within a trusted and supporting group can have a positive impact on your health.

The Lung Connection

The American Lung Association has a free online community called The Lung Connection for individuals who are living with lung diseases and their caregivers. Individuals register to join the community.  Members can choose their level of participation and engagement. This online forum is a place for members to discuss how lung disease is affecting them and share their life experience with their peers.
